ubuntu 8.04 released

A new version of my favorite Linux distribution ubuntu has been released. I can really recommend it, with the single exception of photo editing and desktop publishing (Adobe Creative Suite CS3 is hard to beat in that). But apart from that, you can browse the web with the new Mozilla Firefox 3, manage your emails, appointments and tasks with Evolution, create documents, spread sheets and presentations with Open Office and all that for free with automatic upgrading on the operating system level. Ubuntu 7.10 released

The new version of ubuntu has been released. I have been using ubuntu for some years now and I am still a big fan of it. The developers have now implemented 3D desktop effects, which you probably know from Apple. But this is only one of many improved features of this Linux distribution. What I like most about Linux is the way to edit and process LaTeX documents, the constant and automatic updates of all software, and that it’s free. Read more →
